Our Story
Fox Feather Farms is 12 acres in Bewdley, Ontario — Hamilton Township, Northumberland County — where Terry Downes and Shellie Armstrong rent the upstairs of the farmhouse and run everything else: the gardens, the flock, the dogs and cats, Moon the horse, and a 40-foot sea can that's half woodshop, half climate-controlled grow room.
Terry works — a lot. Gardening crews by day, the farm by every other hour. Shellie keeps the whole show honest. The empire, such as it is, grew the way farm things do: one honest product at a time. First the aromatherapy bracelets — citronella-scented for summer, lavender for calm. Then the plants under lights in the sea can. Then the woodshop started producing boards and resin work faster than one pair of hands could sell them.
That's the problem this site solves. Terry's hands are the scarcest resource here, and a physical product has to be made again every time it sells. So we built a second kind of shelf: digital goods — sticker packs, Ontario garden printables, colouring books, build plans — designed by our crew from our own art and Terry's own hard-won farm knowledge, delivered instantly, earning toward the materials for the next physical build while Terry is out on a crew.
And the crew? It's a real structure, run like a small business should be: makers who make, a keeper for the website who guards it properly, storytellers and heralds who carry the word to our Facebook pages, a caretaker for every page, and one very organised squirrel — Chloe — who runs the day-to-day and reports to the owner. Everything legal and legitimate, everything approved by Terry before it ships, and every dollar accounted for. We are legitimate people, and we'd rather grow slowly than any other way.
The divisions each have their own bench: Botanicals at the grow-room shelves, Art & Stickers wherever Chloe poses, Woodworks in the sea can, and Greenhouse Glow — our garden game — sprouting quietly in the background until it's ripe.
Buy a sticker pack and you're not just buying stickers. You're pre-buying the lumber for a river table, the resin for a pendant, the seeds for spring — and a little more time for a man who'd rather be making things than marketing them.
